We deliver the most up to date accredited units SITHFAB005 Prepare and serve espresso coffee and SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety in our Barista Level 1 course and SITHFAB002 Responsible Service of Alcohol in our RSA course. NOTE: There is an additional fee for accreditation. Contact us for more information!

No, there is currently no nationally recognised programme for advanced barista training. We offer the advanced barista course for those who want to fine tune their skills and gain further confidence behind the coffee machine. Our focus in the advanced barista course is to teach you how to work under pressure, learn new techniques and equipment, and introduce you to latte art. Certificates of attainment from HG Coffee School are given to all students who complete the course.

Absolutely! It is important that all baristas have a solid understanding of the full coffee menu and any known variation amongst each variety.

There have been so many recent changes and innovation in coffee making and its presentation that many people find they’ve been left behind. We suggest starting with barista basics, where we can explain the reason we do what we do behind the coffee machine, new style and presentation of coffee and any techniques you might be unfamiliar with. For those with recent training who want to learn how to handle a high pressure environment, multitask and present customers with beautiful latte art we suggest the advanced course.

We recommend comfortable clothing and enclosed footwear, things might get messy!

Any nationally recognised statement of attainment certificate will take between 3 and 4 weeks from your date of training to be delivered to you. This includes Barista Level 1 and RSA certifications they are registered with the Department for Education and a hard copy is sent to you by mail. Your Introduction to Coffee and Barista Level 2 certificates are issued to you on the day at the completion of your course.

Yes, you can send us an e-mail or call us with the course you would like to book into and we can make arrangements for you to pay with cash or a bank card on the day, direct bank deposit into our accounts or pay via credit card over the phone if you are unsure of the website payment system.

Absolutely! In fact this course is designed for those with no knowledge of coffee at all. For those with experience with coffee, this course will fill in all the gaps in your coffee knowledge and give you time to master the fundamentals of coffee.
